As a society we are engrossed in documenting our everyday lives online. We post photos of our super healthy breakfasts to heavily edited, flawless selfies and in doing so we only showcase the 'best parts' and these best parts are often exaggerated or stages becoming an unrealistic

representation of reality. Through cultivating and customising our social media channels we can easily manipulate how other people perceive us and the lives we lead. It is easy to fake things like confidence, happiness and success - and by being constantly exposing to this through the rose tinted window that is social media we can often lose touch with the true ups and downs of everyday life.

By recreating stereotypical 'picture perfect' Instagram photos and comparing them to photos depicting everyday life this project aims to bring some much needed reality to social media.
